The Benfits of Dry Body Brushing
Dry body brushing has been used for many years as a traditional natural health practice. It is simply using a body brush over dry skin to help with cellulite, stimulating the lymphatic and circulatory system, energize the body, balance hormones and eliminate toxins from your body.

Many people start body brushing to help reduce cellulite and saggy skin. Skin sags for several reasons ~ weight loss, pregnancy, hormonal problems, hereditary issues.

Did you know that brushing our skin helps to tighten and tone it? We exercise our muscles through movement, but how do we exercise our skin? Brushing also helps with cellulite ~ which is more than fat. Even skinny models may have cellulite. Cellulite is an indication of what is going on inside your body.

How do we improve cellulite and other issues going on inside our body that we don’t know are problems?

Dry Body Brushing and Essential Oils

What does skin brushing do?

  • Exercises your skin and tightens and tones it
  • Brushes away dead skin cells and brightens your skin and helps you glow
  • Gets the lymph system moving to pump out the junk
  • Strengthens the immune system

Skin brushing has been an anti-aging “secret” in Europe for years. It helps with tightening and toning of skin so you don’t have saggy, loose skin. Even women who have lost over 100 pounds have tight skin from dry skin brushing and aren’t bothered by loose, saggy skin.

Your skin is an elimination organ. As you skin brush, toxins are being eliminated. Drink plenty of water to flush the toxins. This also helps with aging skin not being so thin and bruising so easily. This is also a great way to help improve your immune system.

Use a natural fiber brush ~ available at some health food stores, but I have yet to find one that compares to My favorite body brush. It is coarser than you will find most places and more effective.

When you begin brushing, your skin may be sensitive.  Brush as though you were brushing butterfly wings. Yes, that light a touch. Don’t scrub, just stroke! You may not think it is doing anything. But things are taking place inside your body.

My favorite method takes just 7 minutes and gives your skin (the largest organ of the body) a great workout, as well as exfoliate it to make your skin glow! {Learn about my favorite fitness routine, T-Tapp,  here}

Body brushing is very effective before and after a workout and before a bath ~ add in essential oils and epsom salt for more benefits in the bath. A detox bath would be very beneficial.

What other things can you do to help your body?

In addition to Dry Body Brushing and to assist what is going on  in your body, you can rub essential oils on the fatty areas  ~ try Slique and Citrus Fresh.

Help for CelluliteCel-Lite Magic is great to use too.  It combines the health-enhancing benefits of specially selected vegetable oils with vitamin E and YLTG essential oils to nourish and tone skin. Young Living adds grapefruit essential oil to benefit skin texture and juniper essential oil to help detoxify and cleanse skin.

Drink Water

Drinking plenty of pure water during the day helps to flush out toxins and the lymph that is moving from the dry skin brushing. Add in essential oils like lemon, grapefruit and Slique to enhance flavor and support health. {Only use pure, therapeutic grade essential oils in glass only}

Rebounding

Gently bouncing and jumping on a rebounder is great exercise and a great way to pump out the junk that builds up in our system. It keeps the lymphatic system moving.

Walking

Just plain walking is great to pump the lymphatic system and get the junk out. Did you know that the heart of the lymphatic system is the calf? Walking pumps that very nicely. Want a great inside walking program or learn to take your walking to a new, mindful level?

Try Step Away the Inches ~ I like this program because I can use it inside on rainy days and take the same principles outside on beautiful days.
