I have been meaning to send this for 2 days. But life does not always go as planned, does it? My Thanksgiving sure isn’t at all, but we have so much to be thankful for. So, instead of the day that I had planned, we have been working (life on the farm never stops) and quite thankful for the beautiful day. Snow yesterday, beautiful and crisp today! We have been learning about serving and feeding our employees who are working today. My house doesn’t look like I had planned and we all are rather stinky from the farm. 🙂
Life never goes as planned. I could pout that things are not fair, we have to work so hard and it seems we never get a break, but that is not right, nor does it show a grateful heart.
So, if your day isn’t going as planned, pick up where you are. Be thankful. Look around at all the many, many blessings!!
Here are a few recipes that you were supposed to get sooner, but you might still need something or can add them to your Christmas list.
A few of our favorites are:
Overnight Breakfast Sausage Casserole
Baked Sweet Potatoes and Apples
Vegetable Casserole
1 bag California Blend Vegetables (in the frozen section) ~ cook & drain (or not~ I forgot to cook the veggies one time and just baked the dish in the oven, starting with frozen vegetables. It was just as good)
Cheese~ whatever kind you like or use
Ritz Crackers ~ crushed
1 stick of butter ~ melted
Spray a casserole dish (size depends on size of bag of vegetables you buy).
Cook and drain vegetables. Place vegetables on bottom on dish and cover with cheese.
Cover with crushed crackers and pour melted butter on top. Or mix crackers and butter together first.
Bake for 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees or until crackers are brown and cheese is melted.
