Christmas and the holidays… this time of year brings excitement, joy and often pain. The flood and range of emotions can be extreme depending on our circumstances.

No matter what our emotions and situation, Christmas can be stressful. How can you simplify the season and reduce the stress?

Plan Ahead
Make a plan for your holiday season. Make priorities. What do you have to do? Make a list of meals, gifts, schedule and keep a notebook. Delegate as much as you can to your family and work together.

Simplify Your Schedule

 What do you have to do? What can you combine and how can you make your life easier? Make part of your plan above simplifying your schedule.

Say No
What should you say no to? What is okay to just say… what can we skip this year? What will be in the best interest for your family and health? What would staying home one evening and just chilling as a family with your family do for your bonding?

Enjoy Your Traditions {if they fit}

I am saying no to more this year so I can say yes to my family. Enjoying the traditions with them. We may not do as much as we normally do, but keep the main things. They boys still enjoy some simple things we do each year…

“Mommy…you are going to wrap up a Christmas book for everyday aren’t you?”

“Are you going to do the Hershey Kiss Countdown for us?”

“Let’s ride around and see the Christmas lights.”

They love the little things that make them feel loved. So I am not saying no to those. I am taking advantage of every moment I am blessed with my family. We never know when it will be over and before we know it, our little ones will be grown.

Take Care Of You

It is so easy to put yourself on the back burner this time of year. You are burning the candle on both ends and working so hard to have a great holiday season and then you end up falling apart. You have to take care of you, it isn’t selfish but necessary.

Drink plenty of water, sleep more than you plan to, eat right and take your supplements. Get more tips in this post

Enjoy the Season

Enjoy it!! Have fun!! You never know how many holidays you have left with your loved ones and you need to make memories. Things aren’t important, people are!! Enjoying snuggling and eating popcorn while watching Christmas movies together and reading books. Make every day special.
