Cedarwood essential oil has many, many benefits. It is very calming, can improve your skin, helps sore muscles, helps your digestive system, respiratory, circulatory system and much more. Plus it smells great!

We understand now why cedars were the trees mentioned most in the Bible ~ they symbolizing a source of protection and abundance and were used by kings and in temples. It is also known as a very spiritual oil and helpful in bringing people together.

Cedarwood Essential Oil is steam distilled from the bark of cedar trees. It has the highest concentration of sesquiterpenes ~ 98%!!! This helps to decode bad information in the cellular memory. It crosses the blood brain barrier and helps oxygenates the brain. It impacts the emotional center of the brain.

Cedarwood Essential Oil can be inhaled, diffused and applied topically to receive the best benefits.

How to Use Cedarwood Essential Oil:

1. Calming and grounding ~ Inhale, rub on feet or diffuse to support the nervous system.

2. Promote restful sleep ~ diffuse, rub on feet, temples, back of neck. 

  • Sweet Sleep Cream: mix 1/3 cup with 12 drops Cedarwood and 12 drops Lavender. Try adding 6 drops of Orange Essential Oil too!! Rub on feet or spine for a restful night.
  • Diffuse ~ diffuse alone or combine with lavender for a great night.

3. Balance Emotions~ you know those days when life is just too much? Inhale, diffuse and rub Cedarwood on your feet and back of neck.

4. Promote mental clarity and helps you focus ~ sometimes our minds just can’t stop spinning. Or we or our kids have a hard time concentrating. Inhale, diffuse and rub Cedarwood on back of neck, temples, top of head and forehead.

5. Stimulate Hair Growth  ~ add a few drops to your shampoo or conditioner. Or just apply to problem areas.

  • Eyelash Growth ~ add 1 drop each Cedarwood and Lavender to mascara to grow healthy lashes. 

6. Supports the respiratory system ~ rub a couple drops on your chest

7. Improves Concentration & Test Taking: Rub on big toe, temples, back of neck and top of head. You can also put a drop on your thumb and press to the roof of your mouth. Try it… it works! I also do this before flying.

8. Great for skin ~ add 1 or 2 drops to toner or moisturizer to clarify and improve your skin.

9. Keep away annoying pests ~ Don’t you get tired of being “bugged” outside? Apply Cedarwood because they don’t like it!

10. Stress Relief ~ since Cedarwood supports the nervous system, it will help reduce your stress:

  • Diffuse after stressful day
  • Relaxing Massage ~ add a few drops to a carrier oil for a nice massage

    Great post one oil that doesn’t get the credit it deserves. Also great for frizzy hair I put a little on my ends I am forever using this oil mixed with lavender to get my children off to sleep at night.
