It is almost Father’s Day…a day to celebrate our fathers and husbands. A day set aside to say “thanks for all you do and we love you.”  Dads are so important. Take time to show them just how special they really are.

“A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.”
— Billy Graham

Father's Day Ideas

Dads make such a difference in our lives…one way or the other…good or bad. I am so thankful to have been blessed with a wonderful father and extra blessed with a godly, loving husband who is such a dedicated father to our sons. Our boys have such a wonderful example of what a dad really is.

Not everyone is that blessed and suffer many scars. I am so sorry for that. It leaves wounds like nothing else can. I pray that you will find healing and love in the arms of our Heavenly Father.

And for those who are missing their fathers this Father’s Day, I pray that the day will not be too difficult and that you will be comforted.

I hear so many women so “my husband didn’t make sure I had a nice Mother’s Day, so why should I make his day special?” Please take the higher road if you didn’t have the Mother’s Day of your dreams. Step back and look at the man your husband is 364 days of the year. Celebrating a man made, commercial holiday in the way the world says is not the definition of love, but loving and sacrificing every day is a measure of love.

We love to celebrate in our home and make everyday special. On Father’s Day, we like to treat Daddy extra special. He works hard and sacrifices every day for our family. He loves me more than I deserve.

What are some ways that you can say “I love you” to the dads in your life?

Start off with a special breakfast. At our home, Overnight Sausage Breakfast Casserole is how we celebrate a special day. Add some muffins or pancakes to make the meal even better.

Want an easy, but yummy lunch or supper? Try Crockpot BBQ Chicken. Always a favorite.

Pot Roast.…yummy, simple comfort food that is a favorite in our home.

Or Crock Pot Beef Stew is always a great meal.

This cake looks DELICIOUS!

What are some jobs that dad does around the house every day? Can you take some of that off of him? Mow the lawn, take out the trash, take the kids to the park and let him have a nap, wash the car. Do something he normally does to say “I love you” and notice what you do.

Let him sleep late, fix him breakfast in bed, give him a back rub or a foot rub, watch a favorite movie with him, just take it easy and celebrate dad.

This printable is very sweet!

Make Dad feel special. Kids love to make homemade cards and crafts for gifts.

Our sons enjoyed going to Chick-Fil-A to make Father’s Day Gifts {for free}. They made a “Why I Love My Daddy” wheel, foam door hanger with a verse, a neat tape measure box that said “You Rule”.  We enjoyed a special Family Fun Campout this weekend at Chick-Fil-A. My way to camp.
