Please welcome Shari from Leaving a Legacy Blog. I have been blessed by her blog and I know you will be too…

Hello, my name is Shari and  I want to thank The Encouraging Home for graciously allowing me to guest post here today. I wanted to take a moment to tell you about myself and my blog, Leaving A Legacy.  I am a Christian, a wife, a mother to two precious gifts, a daughter, a sister, and a stage IV breast cancer survivor.

The idea for Leaving A Legacy started in 2007,  a few years after my original cancer diagnosis.  During this time the Lord let me know that  this trial was not going to be easy, but it would be one where He would walk  with me every step of the way. He gave me the comfort of His word found in  Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

As I  was also reading in Acts 4:19, I heard Him calling me to be a witness for Him through this journey. This verse states, “Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you.” I could clearly hear His voice as He said to me, “Make this trial have meaning, glorify my name through it all.” It’s because of this that Leaving A Legacy was born. It’s my desire to let others know that Jesus is Lord of all and He is true to His promises. I am here to tell you that amazing times of growth can come out of the darkest valleys.

At Leaving A Legacy, I want to encourage you to be steadfast in your relationship with the Lord. I also want to challenge you to live each day with purpose, striving to instill Godly values into your children. Don’t waste a moment friends. Before you know it, the moments will be gone. The time is now to be the change you want to see. Please come and join a community of believers, as we daily move forward, uplifting each other in the Lord, while working together to leave Godly legacies for the generations that follow.

I also wanted to let you know about some exciting things that will be happening at Leaving A Legacy next week. Starting Monday June 18th, we will be sharing a series called, “Legacies”. There will be five bloggers that will share posts about what leaving a legacy means to them.
On Thursday June 21st, we will be hosting a brand new link up called “Legacy Leaver Thursdays.” The purpose of this link up is to share anything that God places on your heart that’s related to leaving a legacy. It could be what types of legacies  you would like to leave for your children, in any area you can think of such as spiritual, educational, home making, leadership, and so much more! You can also share stories of Godly legacies from your past and how they have encouraged you today. The purpose of this link up is to encourage each other on our daily journeys as well as working together to follow God’s mandate to train our children in the ways of the Lord.

And of course…..there will be a GIVEAWAY. The giveaway will be a 4th of July gift basket that consists of:

1. A $25.00 gift card to Walmart
