Are there times when you have enough dishes in the sink that they need their own home? Do you ever run out of clothes because it is too overwhelming to keep up with the laundry? How many items have to be purchased again because you misplaced them? Am I the only one who has experienced the chaos, which results from stress, trials, and everyday life? Please tell me I am not alone in experiencing this. Although, I do not wish it on anyone.

Tackling Big Decluttering and Reorganization Projects {at Homemakers Challenge}

Some seasons in life are worse than others. That has been the case in our life this past year. In the midst of a trial that almost caused me to lose my mind, I lost control of my home. I could not keep it organized beyond basic necessities and attempting to keep the entry way looking somewhat civil.

I simply could not manage the home, focus on our family, and survive — all at the same time. The stress caused me to be sick most of the year. Thankfully a year later, we are surviving and on our way to thriving. Well, after I get over being hit by another illness that forced me to spend most of the month sitting in the recliner. Many plans for Christmas and cleaning were put on hold.

Now a new year is here, I am excited to get my house back in order. Excited?? I have never been this excited to clean my home. It has often been just another thing on my long to-do list. We have so much to accomplish as moms. Keeping our home is calling and a privilege. I am thankful that I have a home to live in and loved ones to care for. After living a year in dis organization, I am ready to reorganize, clear the clutter, and restore the peace that comes from a well-ordered home.

Join me at Homemaker’s Challenge to read my plan to regain control of my home.

    I just went and read your post…great tips!!!

    I also wanted to check if you are doing any better? The last I heard you were looking at possible surgery. I am sincerely hoping that was not necessary! Saying a prayer for you this morning!

    • Thanks, Kasey, for your kind comment!

      I passed something this morning~a stone or a fragment of one. Still hurting but praying so much that they all will get out without surgery. Thanks so much for your prayers and checking on me!!

    Oh, well that’s some progress, right? I have never dealt with kidney stones but I have heard stories of intense pain. I wish you could be spared from any further suffering! I will commit to pray for you this weekend. I’m putting a little sticky note at my computer to remind me! I hope you get some rest!

    • It gives me some hope! Thanks so much for your prayers~you are so kind! My sweeties want to jump on the trampoline everyday…I have been hurting too bad,but have this week. Then I passed one. The the trampoline broke. 🙁

      Are you okay? I thought I saw someone put something on your blog about you not feeling well.I was coming over there to comment this morning and got distracted. On my way…

  • Thank you for all the great ideas, and the focus on homemaking, I really appreciate it. Hope you are feeling better, I’ve had kidney stones twice, and each time hurt WAY more than any of my three births:)

  • Hi – this is a great post. I went and checked out the 31 Days website and saved that website and yours on my favorite websites page of GivingNSharing.blogspot.com. I was just remarking to my friend Susan last year how I feel like I’m almost becoming a hoarder ever since my fibromyalgia took over (that’s exactly how it feels!). I hate it – maybe this will help me get back into control. Thanks so much!

    I found you somehow from the Alexa Hop – not sure if you were on there or not – but here I am.

    Well this is probably my favorite post ever because it’s about decluttering AND has a cat photo. I couldn’t ask for more.
